When can I vote early in Minnesota?
Early voting runs Sep 18, 2026 through Nov 2, 2026. Hours and sites are set locally.
Is it too late to register in Minnesota?
Register online by Oct 13, 2026 if you can. Mailed forms should be postmarked by Oct 13, 2026. Register in person by Nov 3, 2026. Register at your polling place (or early voting site) with proof of residence: a Minnesota ID with your current address; a photo ID plus a bill or other document with your address; a registered voter from your precinct who vouches for you; or a photo ID if your college put you on its student housing list.
Do I need ID to vote in Minnesota?
If you're already registered at your current address, you don't need ID to vote in Minnesota. You only need proof of residence if you're registering at the polls.
Can college students vote where they go to school in Minnesota?
Register wherever you consider home right now: your dorm, an off-campus apartment, or your parents' house. If school isn't home, vote absentee from your home address. Paying out-of-state tuition doesn't stop you from voting in Minnesota. If your college is on the student housing list, a photo ID can be enough for Election Day registration.
When is the mail ballot request deadline in Minnesota?
No hard request cutoff published in the guide. SOS recommends applying by Fri Oct 2 for mailed ballots; in-person absentee is available through Nov 2.
When does my mail ballot have to arrive in Minnesota?
Your ballot must be received by Nov 3, 2026. Won't count if received after Election Day.
Can I track my ballot in Minnesota?
Use Minnesota's ballot tracker to see when your ballot was sent, received, and accepted.
Can I take a photo of my ballot in Minnesota?
Don't. Minnesota law bars showing your marked ballot to anyone in the polling place, and election judges can refuse to count a ballot that's been shown.
Can I vote with a felony record in Minnesota?
You can vote with a felony record unless you're currently incarcerated for it. After release, including on probation or parole, you just need to register.
